Offline activation: In Hub, open Licensing, create an activation request, and import the signed license returned by Forensics Byte. Your existing records remain readable and supported document exports remain available without an active license.

Review existing cases and activate new work

ByteCase Hub 0.29 uses a per-user Windows installer. After installation, open ByteCase Hub from the Start menu and complete the department and examiner settings.

You can open existing local cases and save supported PDF or DOCX copies of saved records before activation. Creating, editing, or importing new case records requires an active signed license. To start new work, open Licensing → Create trial / activation request and save the .bcreq file. Contact Forensics Byte for instructions on returning the request, then import the signed .bclic file you receive. Once imported, activation works offline.

This pilot includes Intake, Evidence, Acquire, Verify, Objectives, Artifacts, Findings, and Workflow. Notes and the Hub Report screens are reserved for a later update. Saved records remain available for supported module document exports.

Lightweight orchestration around standalone tools

ByteCase Hub Local preserves the modular product model.

The examiner can use one standalone utility when that is all the workflow requires, while the Hub provides a clearer shared view as more modules are adopted.

This is a pilot release for hands-on feedback. Existing saved Notes and Hub report records are preserved, but their screens are not exposed in 0.29.

  • ByteCase Hub Local is an orchestration layer, not an evidence parser, extraction engine, forensic analysis platform, or investigative case-management system.
  • Module status reflects recognized files and records; it does not prove that the underlying work was performed correctly.
  • This 0.29 pilot keeps Notes and the Hub Report screens unavailable while their internal logic is refined. Saved older records are retained.
